Advanced Pavement Marking was honored to be selected for racetrack painting NCM Motorsports Park. Our traction coatings are put to use on the beautiful Bowling Green, Kentucky course.
The APM racetrack painting team was working in Braselton, GA, at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta circuit for a MotoAmercia event, and received the “great news” about the home of “Corvette” NCM race track project.
Upon completing the installation of FIA-FIM approved 09NS Circuit Paint, on the Road Atlanta track, our crews would dispatch to the Bowling Green, Kentucky track.

NCM Motorsports Park

NCM Motorsports Park Track
Full Course configuration covers 3.15 miles, with a 2,300′ main straightaway and 23 turns.
The opportunity to paint the NCM Motorsports Park was very exciting, especially for Advanced Pavement Markings team members: Don & Lev, both are passionate Corvette owners and track day participants

The APM team arrived to NCM and began staging materials, equipment. Project overview and production schedule meeting kicked off (Monday morning). NCM Motorsports Park is a “active” racetrack & test facility, operating 7 days a week, 8am – 6pm. Having an active track, would mean APM team members would have to work evening and night-time shifts for painting racetrack. An early closure of the track occurs Monday at 3pm, and our crews take advantage of this. Starting off painting production, begins with RED “traction” coating of all curbs, using our towable paint application machine. Our specialized track painting equipment features; High output air compressors, heat exchangers, water seperators, air coolers, in-tank material mixers, multiple tanks, and the ability to spray various coatings including friction/traction materials.

Track painting using the proper application equipment is key to providing not only a professional look, but also ensures lasting durability the harsh racing environment requires.

When contractors or racing facilities skip traction paints and apply SLIPPERY parking lot paints, they compromise racing participants; control, confidence, and safety! Racecourse and test facility surfaces should always be coated with ANTI-SKID, FRICTION, TRACTION coatings. These types of paints become not only another layer of safety, but also provides a level of confidence and control, racing participants deserve.

Race track painting NCM Motorsports Park did not come without “surprises”. Production started Monday mid-day, around 11pm RAIN moves into the area. This shuts down our production and we lose a day and a half. Our project schedule is now behind due to weather. Wednesday arrives and our team hits the track at 12pm, working all day and throughout the night, the APM team makes up for the lost production, getting forecasted schedule back on track.

HAZARDOUS Parking Lot Striping Paint, DOES NOT Belong On Racetrack Surfaces!
